How to Make Extra Money

Here are some ideas on how you can make extra money online. There are endless ways of making money online, so I want to share some of my top money earning ideas with you. As always, be wary of money making scams. I've been making extra money online since 1998, and have seen pretty much every scam going. Consequently I'm only going to talk about major money making ideas that use legitimate online companies to make money.

Since I started making money online a few years ago, I've now got something like 20 different schemes operating now. Amazingly, every single money making scheme I've tried has made money. If you put something up for sale online then you will find customers! Of course, some of my schemes have been more successful than others, so I'll tell you the most lucrative schemes.

The extra money schemes I like best are those that I can automate (so-called passive income). My business software site has a number of software tools for sale online. The entire ordering process is automated and pretty much the only thing I have to do is to take my check to the bank every month.

Making extra money from selling your own products is probably the best way to make extra money. But don't worry if you can't write computer programs or apps. Information is valuable, so if you know a lot about a particular subject then why not write it down and publish it as an eBook? People will pay good money for eBooks, particularly in topics where that information has high value.

Make extra money with these great websites

There are plenty of websites that offer you great ways of raising some extra cash. I've focussed on passive income sites (where you can earn money in your sleep), and those that are easy to fit in around your busy lifestyle and which don't need much in the way of start up costs.

Fiverr

This is an interesting site for making small amounts of extra money online. Basically you sign up to Fiverr and post Gigs - things that you are prepared to do for $5.

The key to success with making extra money through Fiverr is doing something that is scaleable. You ideally need to offer a service that won't take you any time to do yourself. While a lot of people will design a company logo or write a web page for $5, this isn't scaleable. What you need to do is to offer something for sale like an eBook. That way all you have to do is to email the person the eBook once they have paid for it. While an eBook does take time to write, it won't take much more time to sell 1000 copies as it would to sell 10 copies.

The problem with Fiverr is that by the time you've paid Fiverr the commission on the job, paid the PayPal fees and any foreign currency conversion fees you'll end up with a lot less than $5 in your bank account.

HubPages

This is currently my top way of making extra money online. This requires no money to start off with and is 100% legitimate and free of scams. You don't need your own website or blog. All you need is to want to make some extra cash, plus a willingness to write fun and informative articles that people will enjoy reading.

HubPages is basically a free website where its members write the website's content (called Hubs). You can write about pretty much any topic (as long as it complies with the site's terms and conditions). HubPages is free to sign up to. Content on the HubPages website is surrounded by advertising. You get 60% of the advertising revenue from the Hubpages you write. This is pay per click rather than pay per view, so in good topic areas you can make a lot of money.

Writing about certain topics is quite lucrative, especially in the health, money and relationships niche. I've written Hubpages on a variety of topics. My best article has made me $55 in 6 months - not bad for an article that took me less than one hour to write!

I've only been using Hubpages for 7 months. Some of the more established writers are making well over $1000 every single month from their articles.

Already I'm making around $100 a month from HubPages, and my income is growing rapidly as I get better at writing money making articles. My HubPages articles have also significantly boosted my sales of the eBooks and software I have written (the $100 I mentioned doesn't include these extra sales).

Don't know what to write your first 10 articles about? Relationships, money and health are all good for making money. But your first articles should be designed to attract large numbers of visitors rather than making money. For this I suggest you write about hobbies and interests. Pets, cooking, sport and related topics are all easy to get a lot of traffic. Once you get lots of traffic on Hubpages your Hubscore goes up and you'll find it a lot easier to write about the more lucrative topics.

InfoBarrel

InfoBarrel is another revenue sharing site that is similar to HubPages. Some people like InfoBarrel, whereas others prefer HubPages.

InfoBarrel allows you to make extra money by writing articles for the site. To get the most out of the site you have to write between 500 and 1000 word articles. Popular articles on InfoBarrel include "How to" guides, travel guides and other interesting articles. InfoBarrel staff manually review submissions to maintain site quality.

You can put in a couple of links to other sites in your signature - in this way it works a bit like eZineArticles. The more links your various websites have then the more visitors you can attract.
