Do you want to make some extra money online? Here are a few ideas to help you make some extra cash. I've run my own Internet business empire since 2002, so I have plenty of ideas and a wealth of experience for making money online.

Article Writing for Hubpages

This is currently my favourite No .1 way of making some extra money online. This requires no money to start off with and is 100% legitimate and free of scams. You don't need your own website or blog. All you need is to want to make some extra cash, plus a willingness to write fun and informative articles that people will enjoy reading.

Hubpages is basically a free website where its members write the content. You can write about pretty much any topic (except for adult content and content prohibited by Google's AdSense terms & conditions). Hubpages is free to sign up to. Content on the Hubpages website is surrounded by advertising. You get 60% of the advertising revenue from the Hubpages you write. This is pay per click rather than pay per view, so in good topic areas you can make a lot of money.

Writing about certain topics is quite lucrative, especially in the health, money and relationships niche. I've written Hubpages on a variety of topics. My best article has made me $55 in 6 months - not bad for an article that took me less than one hour to write!

I've only been using Hubpages for 6 months. Some of the more established writers are making well over $1000 every single month from their articles.

I'm currently making around $60 a month, and my income is growing rapidly as I get better at writing money making articles. My Hubpages articles have also significantly boosted my sales of the eBooks and software I have written (the $60 I mentioned doesn't include these extra sales). With Hubpages increasing my AdSense earnings, I now qualify for an AdSense check from Google every single month of the year.

Don't know what to write your first 10 articles about? Relationships, money and health are all good for making money. But your first articles should be designed to attract large numbers of visitors rather than making money. For this I suggest you write about hobbies and interests. Pets, cooking, sport and related topics are all easy to get a lot of traffic. Once you get lots of traffic on Hubpages your Hubscore goes up and you'll find it a lot easier to write about the more lucrative topics.

What's the catch?

There isn't one!

Hubpages pays you 60% of the revenue your articles make from Google AdSense, Amazon Associates, eBay and Kontera. Hubpages keeps 40%. If you sign up using my affiliate link then you still get 60%, but I get 10% and Hubpages only get 30% of your revenue instead of 40%. So you've got nothing to lose from signing up using my link.

Isn't 40% a big cut of my earnings?

Yes it is! However there are big advantages to writing for Hubpages. Firstly the site has a good Google PageRank and Hubpages articles do very well in Google's search results and other search engines. You can even get good page rankings for articles in competitive niches such as dating, weight loss and finance. So your articles on Hubpages will get a lot more traffic than they would do were they hosted on your own site. Secondly, Hubpages achieve very high advertising clickthrough rates on AdSense which would be very hard to achieve with your own website layouts. Clickthrough rates of 10-20% are very common if you write in certain lucrative subject areas. Hubpages uses a cool technology called YieldBuild which significantly boosts the amount of money made from your Hubpages.

The important thing to remember about Hubpages is that it uses your own Google AdSense ID and Amazon, Kontera and eBay affiliate accounts. So any money you earn from your Hubpages goes straight into your AdSense and affiliate accounts. If you already have an AdSense account then you're missing out and you should sign up to Hubpages straight away.

Do you use Google Analytics? You can add Hubpages to Google Analytics, then you get detailed statistics on your Hubpages content. Analytics is also integrated with AdSense, so you can see which of your pages are making you the most advertising revenue.

Unlike other article marketing sites, it doesn't matter what country you live in. As long as you can write compelling original content then you can make money from Hubpages.
