20x SSC

17.53% (w/v) sodium chloride and 8.86% (w/v) trisodium citrate were dissolved in distilled water. The pH of the solution was adjusted to 7.0 with 5 M sodium hydroxide.

20x SSPE

17.53% (w/v) sodium chloride, 2.76% (w/v) sodium dihydrogen orthophosphate and 0.74% (w/v) EDTA were dissolved in distilled water and adjusted to pH 7.4 with 1 M sodium hydroxide.

10x TAE

For 1 l of 10x TAE, 48.4 g Tris, 11.42 ml glacial acetic acid and 20 ml of 0.5 M EDTA pH 8.0 stock solution were made up to volume with distilled water.

10x TBE

For 1 l of 10x TBE, 108 g Tris, 55 g boric acid and 40 ml of 0.5 M EDTA pH 8.0 stock were made up to volume with distilled water.

TE buffer

TE buffer (10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA) was made by mixing 200 µl of 1 M Tris·HCl pH 7.5 and 40 µl of 0.5 M EDTA pH 8.0, and making up to a volume of 20 ml with distilled water.
