About My Tropical Freshwater Fishtank

The tank is a 45L (10 Gallon) Rena Aquarama Panorama 60. The tank came supplied with a Rena filter and heater - I added a Rena 50 air pump.

Livestock

The aquarium has contained the following fish and other inhabitants at various times:

• 6 x Neon Tetras
• 4 x Kuhli Loaches
• 2 x Black Kuhli Loaches
• 4 x Tiger Barbs
• 2 x Neon Rosy Barbs.
• 1 x Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta)
• 2 x Algae Loaches
• 2 x Yamato or Algae Shrimps (Caridina japonica)
• 2 x Cobalt Blue Dwarf Gouramis (Colisa lalia)
• 2 x Red Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus)
• 3 x Red Wag Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus)
• 1 x Bumble Bee Goby (Brachygobius xanthozona)
• 2 x African Dwarf Frogs (Hymenochirus curtipes)
• 2 x Red Clawed Crabs (Gaetice depressus)
• 1 x Upside Down Catfish (Synodontis nigriventris)

Based on my experience to date, a good fish stocking idea for a 10 Gallon tank is:

• 6 x Neon Tetras.
• 3 x Kuhli Loaches.
• 2 x Yamato or Algae Shrimps (Caridina japonica).
• 2 x African Dwarf Frogs (Hymenochirus curtipes).
• 1 x Algae Loach.

Or alternatively:

• 6 x Neon Tetras.
• 2 x Red Platy or  Red Wag Platy.
• 3 x Kuhli Loaches.
• 1 x Upside Down Catfish (Synodontis nigriventris).

Plants and Decoration

The fish tank contains a selection of plants and ornaments. The plants are real, and are a selection of common freshwater aquatic plants, although Elodea predominates due to the speed of its growth.
