Goldfish Market (Tung Choi Street)

Situated in the densely populated Mong Kok area of Hong Kong's Kowloon, the Goldfish market is a series of streets rather than a market in the traditional sense of the word. Nethertheless, it is a fascinating place, with dozens of small shops selling a myriad of aquarium fish and related paraphernalia at prices well below those found in Western countries. The fish themselves are normally displayed outside the shop in plastic bags, ready to be taken home by their new owners.

The Chinese consider goldfish to be particularly lucky, but there are hundreds of other varieties of fish to be found in the streets around Tung Choi street.
