New York Travel Log: Above Manhattan's 54th Steet to Harlem and the Bronx

Harlem

I've been a huge fan of the Seinfeld TV show for many years, so relished the opportunity of searching for some of the major sites featured in the show. First on my agenda was the Monk's coffee shop, where the cast spend much of their time. In real life, Monk's is actually called Tom's Restaurant and it located at 2880 Broadway on 112th street. The interior also looks nothing like it did on the TV show. They do, however, have lots of Seinfeld memorabilia adorning the walls, including a large picture of The Kramer that was featured in one of the episodes.

New York: Monk's Diner from the Seinfeld TV show

The diner is also reputed to be the one mentioned in Suzanne Vega's hit song, Tom's Diner. Incidentally, the hamburgers are excellent!
