This ASP script accesses information about disk drives attached to a web server supporting ASP. The script could have many uses, such as:
Making sure a
server supporting uploading of files has sufficient disk space available before large
files are uploaded.
Creating an ASP
document that will allow remote monitoring of disk space while the server administrator is
out of town.
Output from the web server on which brettb.com is hosted is shown below:
Drive C is a Fixed drive
Drive D is a Fixed drive
Drive E is a CD-ROM drive

This ASP script expands on the use of the previous script by describing how to create a dynamic disk space monitor. The techniques used here could be used to ensure that there is enough disk space before a user uploads a large file to the server, or perhaps the code could be used to help create a web based server monitoring tool.
